Exploring Measurement provides a developmental approach to understanding the concepts of length, area, volume, mass and time. Featuring the use of arbitrary units like hand spans, desk widths, rice and water, each of the 50 activities provide the opportunity for students to relate math to their own surroundings. From measuring with fingers to tessellating with colors, to estimating the time to write fifteen "ai" words, Exploring Measurement is full of fresh, meaningful activities

The Exploring Measurement series provides a rich source of measurement activities for elementary and middle school students. The activities cover the five areas of measurement, which are length, area, volume and capacity, mass and time. An objective is provided for each activity.
